USHER

Ushers are the Drama Club's "FIRST IMPRESSION" to our patrons when they attend a performance and are a very important part of the experience.

General qualifications to become a Drama Club usher include, but are not limited to:

     *  Dependable
     *  Willing to take directions
     *  Pleasant personality
     *  Helpful and courteous
     *  Able to take pressure should a patron issue arise

Ushers wear a long-sleeved white tux-type shirt (a shirt that can take a bow tie) with a black skirt/slacks/pants and black closed toe shoes.  A black jacket or sweater may be worn if required for comfort.  The Usher will receive a bow tie, ID tag and perhaps gloves/hats when they arrive for the performance.  Remain in your uniform the entire show.

DUTIES:

  -  Arrive at least 1 hour before each performance and sign in.  The Head User will brief you on the show and assign
     you a position.  Ushers on the tiers will encourage patrons to the use the hand rails and give each a playbill.
     Door ushers greet each attendee using the name of the show and direct them to their section.

 -  The first ushers will attach row and seat identification and place a playbill on every chair on the main floor.

  -  ALL patrons must have a ticket.  Occasionally seats will be marked as Reserved.  Questions regarding seating
     should be addressed with the Head Usher.  In the event of a sold out house, Row X may be used once a ticket
     is sold at the Box Office.

  -  Special needs patrons can be escorted to Row F.  Remove the chair to accommodate a wheelchair.  Place
      walkers against the side wall and be cognizant that all walkways remain completely open.

  -  After the performance begins, quietly direct patrons to their row.

  -  End of show ushers will pick up remaining playbills and remove the identification number.  Place identification
     numbers, in order, in the box provided.
Discard all folded, crumpled playbills but recycle all good playbills
     (baskets will be provided at the exits).

  -  All Ushers will be given instructions concerning fire exits and procedures in the event of a fire or fire alarm.  A
     CAM guard is hired by the Drama Club for all shows and is totally responsible should an accident occur.

  -  Sit in your assigned seat for the performance.  Empty seats will be possibly sold to patrons requesting to buy a
      ticket at the Box Office so ensure they remain empty.

  -  Return usher ID tags, bow ties, gloves, and hats, and checkout with the Head Usher.
